GEORGE TOWN, PENANG, 28 March 2026 – Aptus Surgery & Specialists Centre (“Aptus”) has opened in George Town, Penang, bringing together specialist consultations, day surgery, diagnostic imaging and health screening in one centre.

Backed by Alfa Medicus, a Singapore healthcare group with experience in day surgery, imaging and specialist clinics, Aptus is a new ambulatory care and day surgery centre in Penang, marking the group’s expansion into Malaysia.

Located at 142-L, Jalan Burma, the centre offers specialist consultations, day surgery, operating theatre support, anaesthesiology, diagnostic imaging, health screening, pharmacy and recovery support. Its in-house consultant disciplines include general surgery, ENT, orthopaedics, ophthalmology and aesthetic medicine.

Aesthetic medicine is part of Aptus’ service offering in Penang, adding a further dimension to the centre’s range of specialist and wellness services. This may include selected cellular therapy and related services, such as Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSC) and Natural Killer Cells (NK Cells), tailored to individual patient needs, subject to doctor assessment, regulatory requirements and service availability.

The new centre adds to the range of private healthcare services available in Penang. It is set up to serve patients in Penang as well as those from the wider northern region who are looking for specialist care, scans, screening and suitable same-day procedures.

Penang is already known as a destination for healthcare. Aptus aims to support that by offering a wider range of services in one location for local and regional patients.

The Penang centre builds on Alfa Medicus’ experience in Singapore, where the group operates four day surgery centres, including two Aptus centres, one Novena Surgery centre and one Novaptus Surgery centre, as well as five OHM diagnostic imaging centres and five specialist clinics.

Aptus is also expected to support referring doctors, employers and patients looking for specialist consultation, scans, screening and appropriate same-day procedures.
